Every day your body is filtering and detoxifying the chemicals, pollutants, and toxins we are exposed to. This is something our body generally does pretty well. 

Over time though systems and filters can start to break down and what we start to feel as normal aging symptoms is actually related to the build up of pollutants, chemicals, etc in the body. 

So those achy joints or muscles, brain fog, fatigue and even allergies could be related to what is going on inside our body.    
Why A Detox May Help
Detoxing isn’t going to be a miracle solution or fix every ailment you have, but it is a great way to cleanse the body and allow it to heal on it’s own. By eliminating trigger foods that could be feeding these health ailments is a great start to feeling better. 

The basics of a good Detox program is to strategically eliminate excess sugar and other unhealthy foods and replace them with more natural clean foods.

1. Energy levels will increase
When your body becomes cleaner on the inside by eliminating the nastiness that is clogging everything up your body will start to function more efficiently. This means more energy, less brain fog and you feel more vibrant.

The most common theme you hear with Detox is weight loss. While this is one of the side effects from following a detox meal plan it isn’t because a Detox program is a weight loss program.

This is a big one because research has shown us that sugar can be very addictive for some people and this results in cravings. Sugar manipulates the rewards system in the brain called the LH-VTA and this results in your brain thinking you need more sugar to keep this response satisfied.  

The easiest way to fix this is to consume less sugar which is what a Detox meal plan or program is designed to do. By eliminating the excess sugar and replacing it with other flavorful but healthy foods your brains reward system still gets satisfied. Also, since you are not consuming an addictive ingredient like sugar your reward system doesn’t become dependent on that one reward.
4. Reduce Food Sensitivities
A good Detox meal plan allows you to recognize food sensitivities. By also eliminating many foods that tend to be associated with food sensitivities you are allowing your body to reduce internal inflammation and naturally heal itself. 

Once you can establish a strong healthy nutritional foundation and start to re-introduce some of these foods you may find that you no longer have a sensitivity to it because you have rid your body of the by-products that were causing the sensitivity.  

5. Reboot Your Life

The body is a powerful system that works very well when organs and cells are allowed to function as they should and not have to fight off damaging chemicals and particles.  

By eliminating the processed foods, the excess sugar and replacing them with natural healthy foods that provide plenty of fiber, vitamins and mineral-rich foods you are going to give your body a chance to naturally heal itself from the inside out.
